In September 2004, members of the seven Cluster congregations met together for the first time as part of the second discernment cycle. These two Cluster Inter-Congregational Gatherings took place in Columbus (Sept 10-12) and New Orleans (Sept 24-26). The program included:

  • Friday Night: an opening prayer ritual introducing the theme "A Journey in Faith" (click here to see a photo show)
  • Saturday Morning: A morning prayer (click here to see a photo show) followed by a video depicting the sacred stories/congregational histories of the Cluster congregations, and a table project where sisters creative a symbol to celebrate the sacred stories
  • Saturday Early Afternoon: Tables discussed their lived experiences of Dominican Life and Mission and as a group submitted their responses for the Documents and Structures Task Force to review (click to see compilations of all the responses from the Columbus and New Orleans gatherings)
  • Saturday Later Afternoon: Sisters read reports from each of the Cluster Coordinating Committee Subcommittees/Task Force and formulate table responses as input to them
  • Saturday Evening: After celebrating the Eucharist, the Sisters enjoyed social time with one another
  • Sunday Morning: After morning prayer, the Sisters first viewed a compilation of responses from the discussion on Dominican Life and Mission from the previous day. Afterward, the Sisters discussed their individual dreams of what a reconfiguration might look like, and wrote them down as table responses. (Click to see compilations of all the dreams and ideas from the Columbus and New Orleans gatherings.) Finally, a prayer of sending forth closed the weekend before a noon-time lunch.
