Sunday Morning

Sunday morning began with a continental breakfast, followed by the working session.

  • We began with a brief opening prayer that reviewed some excerpts from the original letters of Sr. Margaret Ormond to the Cluster and included a prayer of St. Catherine.
  • Our morning continued with a chance to view and reflect on the compiled option preferences collected the day before.
  • The highlight of the morning was the conversation with Fr. Dan Ward, OSB, a canon and civil lawyer assisting the Cluster. The three members of the Executive Committee for the Cluster acted as a panel and presented canonical questions submitted by Sisters throughout the weekend. (A video of this discussion is available through the congregational offices of each Cluster congregation.) The panel was followed by an open mic session of questions and answers with Dan.
  • The Sunday session then included time to write comments or questions for the CCC to consider and time to submit table evaluations of the weekend.
  • At the end of the session, we were asked to once again express in writing which direction we personally supported at that time, this time using a number indicating the strength of our support. We were also asked to include comments for the consideration of the CCC and the Leadership Teams. (Results of this leaning can be viewed here.)
  • The weekend closed with a beautiful Closing Ritual in which members presented candles to the 31 Leadership Team members, entrusting them with the task of leading the congregations in the discernment process.
