The Happy "Wonderer"

Sunday Morning

Saturday morning began with a continental breakfast, followed by the morning session. We found ourselves back in the original table configurations we had on Friday, with random groupings of Sisters.

  • We began with a brief opening prayer to call us to the day, which included a meditation accompanied by the song "Holy Ground."
  • This morning we all received packets of compiled information from the previous day's work. (A group of Sisters had worked the previous day and evening to synthesize all the table reports from the three Saturday sessions). Their distribution included the disclaimer that it was a rough sketch of the input, just to give us a general idea of what was shared at the individual tables. We were informed that the Reconfiguration Subcommittee would work with the original table sheets in the coming weeks to mold and refine the options before our summer congregational meetings.
  • We took time to read and reflect on the compiled information, then shared as tables and recorded any further questions or input we wanted to submit to the CCC and to the Reconfiguration subcommittee.
  • Most of the morning was dedicated to large group sharing. The floor was opened to any individual who felt compelled to share with the entire group her thoughts or feelings on the weekend or on the process in general. What followed was a moving display of honesty and candor, with both positive and negative comments shared across the floor.
  • We finished the morning with a ritual of sending forth. The meeting adjourned a bit later than planned, to allow time for the important sharing that morning within the large group. Most Sisters traveled home that afternoon and evening.
