The
Dominican
Sisters of St. Mary of the Springs began in 1830 when four
Dominican pioneer women arrived in Somerset, Ohio. They had been missioned
to this new territory from the first American foundation of Dominican
women in Kentucky, and founded a new community that would later make
its home in Columbus, Ohio. Today our sisters and associates serve to
preach the Gospel in more than 30 dioceses throughout the United States
and the world.
True to our founding heritage we remain pioneers
who are: |
 |
• |
Committed to proclaiming the Gospel in the 21st
century. |
| • |
Risk takers who respond creatively to the needs of God’s
people. |
| • |
Joyful preachers of God’s grace. |
| |
• |
Eager for the fulfillment of God’s reign of truth and
life, holiness and grace, of justice, love and peace. |
| |
• |
Committed to maintaining relationships with others, especially
with our extended Dominican Family members. |
